About PGIMER exam

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research conducts an entrance test for admission to the MD (Doctor of Medicine)/ MS (Master in Surgery) courses offered by the Institute. PGIMER exam is conducted twice a year for MD/MS courses for the corresponding academic sessions. The academic session for PGIMER MD/MS courses starts in July and January every year.

PGIMER exam 2021 for admission to the January session of MD/ MS courses will be conducted in the last week of November. PGIMER is expected to release the applications for this entrance test by the last week of October. The deadline to fill the PGIMER 2021 application form and submit the registration fee will be in the second week of November. Only those applications which were submitted on time will be accepted by the institute. The Institute will release PGIMER 2021 admit card in the third week of November. Candidates must note that PGIMER does not release the answer key for the entrance test. Thus, any claims of the PGIMER 2021 official answer key are false and candidates should not get carried away by them.

PGIMER 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for PGIMER MD/MD courses has been prescribed by the Institute. Candidates who wish to apply for the entrance examination are advised to go through the PGIMER eligibility criteria 2021 before filling the application.

PGIMER eligibility criteria for MD/MS courses

  • Candidates must possess MBBS degree from a University/Institute recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI)
  • They must have completed the one-year period of their rotatory internship by before December 31, 2020
  • They must be registered with the Central/State Medical Registration Council

 

PGIMER Exam 2021 Admission Process

Candidates who wish to apply for the PGIMER 2021 exam will have to fill the application form online. The applications will be available online form the last week of October. Duly filled applications have to be submitted by the second week of November. Steps to fill the PGIMER application form are as under:

  • Online registration
  • Completing the application form
  • Uploading the requisite documents
  • Application fee payment
  • Final submission of the application

The admit card for PGIMER 2022 will also be released online. Candidates are advised to download the PGIMER 2021 admit card from the official website of the institute only.

PGIMER 2021 examination for admission to the January session of MD/ MS courses will be held in the last week of November. The mode of this examination will be online. The result for PGIMER 2021 January session will be released online and the candidates can check their scores by logging in to their registered account. PGIMER 2022 result will be followed by the release of the merit list. 

Selected candidates will be eligible to participate in the counselling of PGIMER 2021. The institute will be conducting the PGIMER counselling 2022 online. 

 

PGIMER 2021 Exam Day Guidelines for January Session

  • Candidates will be subjected to thorough frisking and other security procedures on the day of the examination. It is mandatory for all candidates to go through these security procedures, thus, they are requested to cooperate with the security personnel.
  • Water bottle, car key (Remote), mobile phones, pager, pen, wristwatch, ring, wallets, ladies purse, ornaments (Earrings, rings etc.) or any other electronic device are prohibited inside the examination hall.
  • Candidates are advised to reach the examination centre at least an hour before the examination.
  • PGIMER will not make arrangements for the hostel/hotel for the candidates who wish to write the PG entrance test.
