What is JMI entrance exam?
The Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University conducts the Jamia Millia Islamia entrance test to shortlist candidates for admission in various UG, PG, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, MPhil, PhD and certificate courses such as Engineering, Architecture & Planning, Hospitality & Travel, Animation, Mass Communication, Humanities & Social Sciences, Commerce as well as Teaching & Education. The result of the entrance exam is announced separately for different programmes. The JMI entrance exam is conducted annually for different courses offered at Jamia Millia Islamia. The national-level entrance exam is conducted in offline mode at various exam centres. The entrance test is conducted for 134 courses in offline mode (pen-paper based).

JMI Entrance Exam 2022 Application Process
Candidates who wish to appear for the Jamia Millia Islamia entrance exam will have to follow the application process. Applicants need to apply for different courses on offer at Jamia Millia Islamia University via online medium. The candidate will have to fill up the application form, available on the University website and the Portal of the Controller of examination. The next step is to make the required payment as per the candidate's category. After successful submission of the form, the applicant will receive the notification related to the admit card a few days before the exam date. Step 1: Register at JMI admission portal or the Portal of Controller of Exam
To fill the JMI 2022 entrance exam application form, the candidate will first have to register themselves on the admission portal of the varsity by entering details such as:

Once the candidate has successfully registered, the aspirant will receive a mail on the submitted email ID, which will contain a unique code with a link to verify the email account, login ID and password.
Step 2: Fill up the JMI entrance exam application form
After candidates verify their email accounts, they can log in by entering their ID and password. It may be noted that "a candidate is allowed to submit only ONE form for each program/group of programs (With Combined Entrance Test). Multiple submissions of form for the same program by a candidate may cause rejection of his/her candidature," informs the official website.

Step 3: Pay JMI Entrance Exam Application Fee
After the candidate has filled up the JMI entrance exam application form, the next step is to pay the application fee. Candidates can pay the fee via online mode via credit card/ debit card/ net banking.

Once the fee is paid successfully, the candidates’ JMI entrance exam 2022 application process will be complete.
Step 4: JMI Entrance Exam Admit Card 2022
Once the JMI application form and the application fee have been successfully submitted, candidates will receive their respective admit cards on the official website of the university. The JMI entrance exam admit card will be released online. Candidates will have to download the admit card on the university's official website by logging in to their accounts.
Step 5: JMI 2022 Entrance Exam
For the academic session 2022-23, the examination will be scheduled from the fourth week of July. Candidates are required to bring two copies of their admit cards before sitting for the entrance exam along with one photo-identity proof for verification purposes. Candidates are also advised to follow the rules and instructions as well.

Step 6: JMI Entrance Exam Results
The JMI 2022 entrance exam results will be announced on the official website of the university. JMI result displays the result status of candidates along with their rank cards. Qualified candidates are required to appear for further selection rounds. Candidates clearing the interview rounds are offered admission in their respective courses offered at Jamia Millia Islamia University based on merit.
Step 7: JMI Entrance Exam Counselling
JMI 2022 counselling will begin once the JMI entrance exam results have been announced. Shortlisted candidates will be called for the counselling process as per their rank in the merit list. Selected candidates will have to complete their admission formalities on or before the date notified in the admission schedule. Candidates are required to bring the admit card of Jamia Millia Islamia Entrance exam 2022 and attested copies of the required documents. JMI counselling 2022 will be conducted separately for different courses on different dates.
JMI Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the mass communication entrance exam conducted by AJK MCRC are varied for different courses.
MA Mass Communication
The eligibility criteria for this course states that a candidate who is a graduate in any discipline (in the 10+2+3 pattern) is eligible to apply for MA Mass Communication course admission at Jamia Millia Islamia University. Apart from this, the candidate should have secured at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate at the graduation level.
MA (Convergent Journalism) (Self-Financed)
AJK MCRC states that any candidate, who is a graduate in any stream from a recognised college with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks, meets the eligibility criteria for this course admissions.
PG Diploma in Journalism (Hindi Medium) (Self-Financed)
The eligibility criteria for admission in this course requires candidates to possess a graduation degree in any stream from a recognised college with a minimum of 45 per cent aggregate. Apart from this, aspirants should also know the Hindi language.
PG Diploma in TV Journalism (Hindi Medium) (Self-Financed)
To be eligible for admission in this course, aspirants should have completed their graduation from a recognised college (in any stream) with at least 45 per cent aggregate marks.
PG Diploma in Broadcast Technology (Self-Financed)
The eligibility criteria for admission in this course states that any candidate who has completed his/her graduation with a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, IT, BCA or Engineering from a recognised college is eligible to apply.
However, a point to note is that only aspirants who have studied Physics, as well as Mathematics in their Class XII, are eligible to apply for admissions.
PG Diploma in Still Photography & Visual Communication (Self-Financed)
To be eligible to apply for this course, candidates should complete their graduation (in any stream) with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognised college.
PG Diploma in Acting (Self-Financed)
The eligibility criterion for this course admission requires the candidate to have completed their graduation in any stream from a recognised college or university.
PG Diploma in Urdu Mass Media
For Urdu Mass Media course admissions, candidates should have cleared Class XII with at least 55% marks in Urdu/Persian/Arabic.
BA (Hons) (Mass Media Hindi)
The eligibility criteria for admissions in this course at Jamia Millia Islamia University states that interested candidates should have secured at least 50% aggregate marks in their Class 12.

JMI Entrance Exam Pattern
JMI Entrance Exam Pattern is prescribed by Jamia Millia University each year. As per the pattern, the candidates need to attempt 200 questions in 3 hours. The question paper will contain objective/multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and no subjective questions. The entrance exam for admission in courses offered at AJK Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC) consists of two sections – A and B. Section A: comprises objective type questions from National and international political issues/personalities, General knowledge, Film, television and other media, Art, literature and culture etc. Section B comprises of essay type long answers which reflect the candidates' critical understanding of contemporary issues and the media. This paper also evaluates candidates' skill in visualisation, story-telling and their creative aptitude. Aspirants who clear the written entrance exam are eligible to appear for the interview and portfolio submission round.
JMI Entrance Exam Admit Card
The university will release the hall ticket for different courses in online mode as per the prescribed schedule. However, it may be noted that the varsity also informs candidates about the availability of admit cards through SMS on their respective registered mobile numbers. Candidates can download the admit cards from the website. Once the candidates have downloaded their admit cards, the aspirants are requested to take a printout and paste their self-attested passport size recent coloured photograph in the space provided. Thereafter, candidates can carry their JMI admit card 2022 to their allotted exam centres. Candidates are recommended to carry two copies of their admit card to the test centre as they need to deposit one of those copies to the invigilator at the time of exam, informs the official website.
