What is WLCI Aptitude Test?

Established in 1996, WLCI conducts WLCI Aptitude Test to provide admission to aspirants in the School of Fashion, School of Advertising & Graphic Design as well as School of Media & Mass Communication. Candidates need to apply for WLCI Aptitude Test 2021 exam on the official website of WLCI. Aspirants are also informed that: “Admit Cards, Results and Counselling Schedule will be available on WLCI website only. No separate communication will be sent by post”.

WLCI Aptitude Test is not conducted on any particular day. Aspirants can appear for the exam at their convenience. The online registration process for WLCI Aptitude Test 2021 admission process usually commences in August and goes on till December. 

WLCI Aptitude Test exam is the means through which a candidate can secure admissions in fashion technology, graphic design and media courses offered at WLCI Bangalore, WLCI Delhi, WLCI Chennai, WLCI Hyderabad, WLCI Kathmandu, WLCI Greater Noida, WLCI Mumbai, WLCI Pune, WLCI Kolkata and WLCI Surat.

 

WLCI Aptitude Test Eligibility Criteria 2021

The eligibility criteria for WLCI Aptitude Test varies for UG and PG courses. Candidates can go through the detailed eligibility criteria for WLCI Aptitude Test below.

Eligibility Criteria for UG Courses

The eligibility criteria for WLCI Aptitude Test 2021 states that aspirants will be allowed to appear for WLCI Aptitude Test exam  in order to secure admission in UG programmes on offer at WLCI provided they fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria:

  • Completed their Class XII level examinations in the 10+2 pattern of examination from any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination (such as Central Board of Secondary Education / State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi).

OR

  • Cleared General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB).                                                     

OR

  • Passed any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries that is recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.

OR

  • Secured pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.

OR 

  • Possess 3 or 4 years Diploma recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

Note: Aspirants will also be eligible to apply for WLCI Aptitude Test 2021 if they are appearing for their qualifying exam provided they are able to produce the necessary documents related to the completion of exam/marks at the time of counselling/admissions.

Eligibility Criteria for PG Courses

The eligibility criteria for PG courses on offer at WLCI on the basis of a candidate’s performance in AICET 2021 are as mentioned below:

  • Possess an undergraduate degree in any discipline from any college/university recognised in India.

 OR

  • Possess an advanced Diploma in Fashion Technology /Advertising and Graphic Design /Mass Communication from WLCI.
  • Possess a Diploma of atleast 3 years duration in Fashion/Advertising & Graphic Design/Media/Mass Communications from any other Institution/College.

 

Aspirants who possess an undergraduate degree from any recognised university will only be eligible to apply for Master’s Degree programmes at WLCI. Apart from this, WLCI Board conducts the below-mentioned type of assessment for various categories of disability for different programmes:

Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Nationals

In each programme offered at WLCI’s campus at Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune,10% of total seats are reserved for Foreign Nationals (whether residing in India or abroad) and Non-Resident Indians (who are citizens of India holding an Indian passport and have temporarily immigrated to another country for six months or more for work, residence or any other purpose).

WLCI Aptitude Test 2021 Admission Process

Candidates need to go through the below-mentioned steps in order to take part in the WLCI admission process 2021.

Step 1: Fill WLCI Aptitude Test 2021 Application Form

In order to successfully register for WLCI Aptitude Test 2021, candidates need to carefully fill the WLCI Aptitude Test 2021 application form. Aspirants can fill the application form for WLCI Aptitude Test 2021 on the official website of WLCI.

Step 2: Download WLCI Aptitude Test Admit Card

On the basis of information given in the WLCI application forms, admit cards of provisionally eligible candidates will be sent by email. No WLCI Aptitude Test 2021 admit card will be sent by post. 

Step 3: Appear for WLCI Aptitude Test 2021 Exam

All eligible candidates will have to appear for a written entrance examination at the Examination Centre opted by them. The written test is divided into two parts wherein aspirants need to appear for CAT (Creative Ability Test) as well as GAT (General Ability Test). Entry to the examination centre will be allowed with admit cards only. Mobile phones and other gadgets are not allowed inside the Examination Centre.                                                       

Step 4: Appear for Interview round                        

In each course offered at WLSI, 50% weightage is given to an aspirant’s performance in the interview round. Only candidates who clear this round are eligible for admissions on the basis of WLCI Aptitude Test exam.

Step 5: Check WLCI Aptitude Test 2021 Results

The result for WLCI Aptitude Test 2021 will be sent by email to candidates who make it to the merit list.

Step 6: Attend WLCI Aptitude Test 2021 Counselling

Candidates who are shortlisted for admissions basis their performance in WLCI Aptitude Test 2021 need to appear for the counselling round with all the relevant documents. In case of admission in PG courses, the candidates will also be required to bring their original certificate (Mark Sheet and Certificate) of the qualifying degree examination. In case the candidate has appeared in final semester/ final year (as applicable) then he/she will have to bring the original mark sheet of all the previous semester/years.
